Founder and Director
Nordic Carib is a strategic advisory and investment facilitation firm connecting international capital, expertise, and institutions with the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) and the wider Caribbean region. We help governments, corporations, development partners, and investors navigate complex markets, policies, and financing landscapes with confidence.
Thirty years in international policy and cooperation — bilateral, multilateral, and academic — have shaped how Nordic Carib's Founder and Director, Katja Svensson, understands how international capital, expertise, and financing instruments are deployed, and how to build the program structures that turn strategic intent into delivery. That experience spans Caribbean governments, Nordic countries, the European Union, and international financing institutions, as well as advising companies expanding into new markets and regions.
The name Nordic Carib reflects a deliberate partnership between two regions with a strong tradition of collaboration, trust, and collective problem-solving. “Nordic” draws on the principle of Nordic Added Value — that countries achieve greater impact by pooling resources, knowledge, infrastructure, and networks toward shared goals — the same approach underpinning Nordic cooperation on sustainable development, research and innovation, climate action, and inclusive growth. “Carib” reflects the Caribbean’s own long- standing commitment to regional collaboration, embodied in CARICOM’s emphasis on solidarity, shared resilience, and collective advancement. Nordic Carib brings these traditions together as a trusted bridge between regions, institutions, and investors — delivering solutions that are cooperative, credible, and results- driven.
The Caribbean Community (CARICOM) includes 21 countries — 15 Member States and 6 Associate
